Watermelon Mint Cooler
Watermelon Mint Cooler is a refreshing, fruity and healthy drink. A perfect summer mocktail!
The Watermelon Mint Cooler contains fresh watermelon juice, a generous helping of fresh mint, a tiny touch of salt and lime to liven the drink up. I make this drink for my son and he absolutely loved it. There is no added sugar and not one drop of fizz either and hence perfect for children.
Watermelon is an extremely healthy fruit. It has a high-water content and delivers many other important nutrients, including lycopene, antioxidants and vitamin C. These nutrients mean that watermelon is not only a tasty low-calorie treat but also very hydrating in hot summer months. The fantastic thing about this drink is that you can easily turn it into alcoholic cocktail by adding a splash of gin and club soda.
I always add some black salt in it as it not only balances the flavour of the drink, but a little bit of extra salt is always good for hot sweaty summer days. This Watermelon Mint Cooler mocktail is refreshing, easy to make and perfect drink to serve at a barbecue on a hot summer day.
Ingredients
2 cups of roughly chopped watermelon(no skin)
8-10 mint leaves
Juice of 1 lime
1 teaspoon black salt
Directions
Take the watermelon in a bowl and add the mint leaves and lime juice and blend for 1-2 minutes. Strain the liquid through a fine sieve. Use the back of a spoon to press down on the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the pulp.
